Argonaut Hotel

We had a great experience at this hotel. My son loved picking a little toy out of the treasure chest & the staff was very friendly & attentive. Our room was decorated wonderfully & was nice & clean. The best thing was the location - right by the wharf & within walking distance of the piers & the cable cars. We recieved a full breakfast as part of our package which was delicious. (I recommend the "Discovery Awaits" package because you also get free parking - it ends up being a better deal than paying separate for breakfast/room/parking). A great experience!

This is not a hotel. If you listen to the outgoing message, this place is more like an apartment complex. Very restrictive on rules and how much it takes to get in, $1000.00. I don't know about you, but I am on this site to find overnight lodging, not an apartment.

I made a reservation a week in advance for a queen bed (it was my wife's birthday) and when I checked in they had given my room away. I waited 30 min. at front desk where the service was horrible. They finally "found" me a room with two horrible twin beds. I was awakened in the morning by hammering and power tools right above us, when I called the front desk they pretty much said "too bad, sorry." When I spoke to the manager he was the worst of all, I can't understand how a customer service oriented business like a hotel can stay in business with a manager like that....wow, really bad all the way around. I guess they just don't plan on any repeat business.

MY EXPENICE AT THE HAWTHORN HOTEL IN ALAMEDA, CA. WAS VERY DELIGHTFUL AND THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY. THEIR CONTIENTAL BREAKFAST WAS DIFFERENT THEN OTHER HOTEL I HAVE STAYED IN. THEY FEATURE HOT ITEMS, VERUS THE USUAL COLD ITEMS. IT WASNT JUST MUFFINS OR DOUGHNUTS, BUT A FULL BREAKFAST THAT WAS VERY SATISIFING. CANT SAY ENUF FOR THIS HOTEL. IT WAS LIKE A STUDIO APT. WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR EVERYTHING. IT HAD A LIVING ROOM AREA, WITH THE BEDROOM SET BACK IN THE ROOM. IT ALSO HAD A HUGE CLOSET FOR YOUR CLOTHES. A SMALL KITCHENETTE AREA, WITH A SEPARATE SINK FOR MAKING COFFEE IN THE MORNING. REFRIGARATOR, MICROWAVE, COFFEE MAKER. WOULD RECOMMED THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE WITH HIGH REGARDS.

Hilton San Francisco

We went to San Francisco for on a family vacation not knowing what to expect. This hotel is beautiful and in the heart of the city. An enormous hotel and everything is close by. A short walking distance to the cable cars, many different resteraunts, and lots of stores for shopping. I do not recommend driving in San Francisco. Parking is expensive. You get the best out of the city by traveling on the cable cars and walking. I think we saw everything in this city in 7 days time. It was nice to retreat to this hotel to unwind and relax. It was so comfortable and the staff was excellent, especially concierge.
